Gene Bosley has been in the banking profession for over 35 years. He is a Senior Vice President with Wachovia Bank in the Wealth Management-Private Banking Division. Gene is married to Patricia Hoff Bosley and they have two children-Matthew and Kate. The Bosley's reside in Glyndon, Maryland.e Bosley has been in the banking profession for over 35 years. O.J. Brigance

Former Ravens and Baltimore Stallions (CFL) LB O.J. Brigance is in his
2nd year as the Ravens' director of player development. Brigance, who earned a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens in 2000, oversees all Ravens player development programs and works closely with Ravens players, assisting with each phase of their careers.

Brigance has already made significant contributions to the Ravens' player development program, including organizing a number of internships for many of the players at locations such as high school football programs, financial institutions and real estate groups. In addition, the life skills programs O.J. has provided to the players throughout the year have been highly effective.

Brigance's wife, Chanda, facilitates the Lady Ravens association, coordinating involvement for all of the players and coaches spouses and significant others. Each year, the group is highly active with the Ravens Family Food Drive, and in 2004, the Lady Ravens participated in the team's tsunami relief collection. Chanda has also organized seminars for the group on benefits, financial education and empowerment.

Brigance's football career began in the CFL with the British Columbia Lions. He spent 3 seasons with the Lions (1991-93) and was named an All-Conference LB. Brigance then joined the CFL's Baltimore Stallions from 1994-95, helping the team earn a Grey Cup Championship in 1995.

He entered the NFL in 1996 with the Miami Dolphins and was voted as a team captain twice in 4 seasons. His Dolphins teammates also selected him as the Ed Block Courage Award recipient in 1999. Throughout his 7-year NFL career, Brigance was involved with the community and has remained involved since his retirement. In Miami, Brigance was involved in a number of different community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Daily Food Bank. Brigance was honored with the NFLPA's Unsung Hero award in 1999.

Brigance, a 1992 graduate of Rice University, signed with the Ravens for the 2000 season, and then closed his career with the St. Louis Rams (2001-02).

Brigance also serves on the board of directors for Aunt Hattie's Place, a home for young men. He and Chanda reside in Baltimore.

  Kelly-Ann F. Clarke

Kelly-Ann F. Clarke was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She graduated from Duke University in 1996 with a triple major in Comparative Area Studies, Spanish and Russian. In 2000 she earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center. Since 2000, Ms. Clarke has been an associate at Greer, Herz and Adams, L.L.P in Galveston, Texas where her primary practice areas are commercial litigation and insurance law. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts in the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western District of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Clarke devotes much of her time to local, state and national bar associations. Locally, she has served as secretary and president of the Galveston County Young Lawyers Association was named Outstanding Young Lawyer of Galveston County in 2003.

On the state level, Ms. Clarke is a Director on TYLA's Board of Directors. Since 2004 she has served as a co-chair of TYLA's Family Law/Seniors Committee, Minority Involvement Committee, Member Service Committee, Low Income Texans Committee and has been a member of the National Trial Competition Committee. She has been integral in the production of three of TYLA's films, Justice 101: A Client's Guide to Litigation, Save Our Seniors: Recognizing and Reporting Elder Abuse and the Emmy® award winning They Had a Dream Too: Young Leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. She received TYLA's President Award of Merit in 2005-2006 and TYLA's President's Award in 2007. For the State Bar of Texas, Ms. Clarke serves on the Grievance Committee for the Galveston area and Local Bar Services Committee.

Nationally, Ms. Clarke has served as a District Representative to the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, representing South Central Texas. As a District Representative, Ms. Clarke served as a liaison for the ABA YLD and the bar associations in Texas and was critically involved in providing Disaster Legal Services for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In 2007, Ms. Clarke was honored with a Star of the Year award. Ms. Clarke currently serves a second term as the ABA YLD's Administrative Director. In 2008, Ms. Clarke will serve as an officer of the ABA YLD by completing the unexpired Secretary-Treasurer term. She will then ascend to Chair-Elect and ultimately, in 2009-2010, serve as Chair of the nation's young lawyer organization. Ms. Clarke has worked with the larger ABA 's Diversity Pipeline Project and was recently awarded a fellowship to the ABA 's Section of Business Law for 2006-2008.

Ms. Clarke also volunteers her time as a director of her homeowner's association and for Meals on Wheels.

In her spare time, Ms. Clarke enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys mystery novels and historical biographies, dancing, movies, dinner parties, party planning and sunshine!
  Devard Darling, President

Devard, the founder and visionary of the As One Foundation, has lived a myriad of life experiences few should have to endure. But because of his love for and faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ he was able to come through his circumstances “as pure gold” (Job 23:10). He will continue to pursue his goals on the professional football field while bringing to life the dream envisioned between him and his twin brother, Devaughn, several years ago; to bring the game of American football to their native country of the Bahamas and open the Devaughn Darling Sports Complex.

With over 40 years experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator; Bo Dixon recently retired as the Headmaster for McDonogh School in Owings Mills , Maryland . Before joining the McDonogh family, Bo had accumulated over 15 years experience as Headmaster at The Columbus Academy in Gahanna , Ohio and Haverford School in Haverford , Pennsylvania . Bo received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and a Master of Arts degree from Temple University in Philadelphia . Bo resides in Maryland with is wife Ann; he has three children and four grandchildren.

Pastor Roderick L. Hairston is passionate about ministry to men and to families. Since 1999 he has served as the team chaplain of the Super Bowl-winning Baltimore Ravens. He's thankful for the unique opportunity to mentor and disciple men of great privilege and acclaim. Reared the youngest of three boys, by his mother, and now the father of four, he is sensitive to the challenges many men face in the silence of their souls when it comes to family, life, and relationships. Pastor Hairston is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned a B.S. in Finance. Before beginning his ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ/Athletes in Action, Pastor Hairston worked in the commercial banking industry. A gifted and trained public communicator with 20 years of experience mentoring men, God has graciously allowed him to minister across the nation and on the continent of Africa. His ministry has taken him from the campus of Howard University (Washington, DC) to UCLA (Los Angeles, CA) to The Communication Center (Cary, North Carolina) to Baltimore, where he now serves as the Senior Pastor of Messiah Community Church, along with his role as the team chaplain of the Baltimore Ravens. His current Masters studies in Pastoral Counseling complements the straightforward, yet compassionate, style with which he speaks to men's, marriage and family issues. He and his wife, Sheri live with their 4 children in the Baltimore, Maryland community.

 

Robert Mills, Programs Committee Chair

Robert Mills, a native of The Islands of the Bahamas , is entering his 1 st year as a Marketing Executive for Marriott Vacation Club International. Mills earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and a Master of Science degree in Sports Management from Old Dominion University . As a member of the Board of Directors, Mills intends to use his professional and personal expertise to further enhance the already strong Fundraising/Personal Development Programs that the As One Foundation has place. Additionally, as a native of the Bahamas Mills realizes the struggles that the youth of the Bahamas must face everyday. Mills knows that his involvement with the As One Foundation will help to provide the Bahamian youth with more educational and development opportunities, which is the mission of the organization.

 

Marcia L. Saneholtz

Marcia L. Saneholtz retired as Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator in October, 2007 after 28 years in athletic administration at Washington State University. During her career at WSU she was instrumental in the development of facilities, student-athlete support programs, a variety of organizational policies and systems, and a culture of gender equality that enhanced the student-athlete experience. She supervised and mentored successful coaches in a variety of sports and support staff in many areas of the athletic department. She also played a key role in WSU's opportunity to host NCAA volleyball and men's and women's basketball championship events. During her tenure she served two terms as Vice President of the Pacific 10 Conference and chair of the Senior Woman's Administrative Committee and served on numerous conference committees. On a national level, Saneholtz served as chair of the NCAA Volleyball Committee, on the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics, the Committee on Athletics Certification, the Women's Committee on Committees, and the President's Liaison Committee. Saneholtz also served on the Board of Directors and as president of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA).

Prior to coming to WSU, Saneholtz was a public school teacher, a rated official in volleyball and basketball, officiating at several state and national championships, and an administrator of local, state and national officiating organizations.

Her honors include NACWAA Administrator of the Year in1997, National Association of Girls and Women in Sports Pathfinder Award in 2001, WSU Woman of Distinction in 2003 and the WSU Association of Faculty Women Sam Smith Leadership Award in 2007.

A native of Napoleon, Ohio, Saneholtz is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, earned her California teaching credentials at California State-Los Angeles and her M.S. at the University of Washington. Her husband Byron (Barney) is retired. They have two daughters Amy and Jennifer.

 

Monique A. Smith

Monique A. Smith is the eldest sibling of Devard and Devaughn. She has had privy to witness their talent for football, gift to inspire, and discipline to work hard catapult them from boys in football pajamas to men in football helmets to the birth of the As One Foundation.

Monique is passionate about human development and the gift of learning. She believes in empowering others to access skills and opportunities that enhance their abilities. “All gifts come from God.”

Monique obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada and a Master of Education in Counseling from Texas Southern University, Houston, TX. She practices her craft as International Student Counselor in the Office of Student Development at San Jacinto College, Pasadena, TX. Monique resides in Houston, TX.

Cicely Darling feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to help make the dreams and aspirations of her husband and deceased brother-in-law become a reality. Cicely, a former kindergarten teacher, athletic administrator, and athlete, has always had a sincere love and appreciation for youth trying to excel in the world of athletics. She also understands the importance of a good education and leading a life grounded in spiritual ideology. All of these elements, she feels embody the mission and goals of this organization and is very excited about the many blessings the As One Foundation will be afforded by our Lord, Jesus Christ because of the organization's obedience to his Word! It is our prayer that we are able to bless others through this organization the same way the Lord has blessed us!
